I first met Michele when she came into the store one evening with her daughter. Their eyes lit up with excitement once they learned about our design services. They just purchased a historic home that needed help furnishing. We immediately booked the appointment and got the ball rolling.

Michele had some of her own pieces she wanted to incorporate, however it was a blank canvas to work with. The space was very large. It was going to be split into two spaces to incorporate a dining area within the living room. We started to design the room around her beautiful oriental rug, which had numerous rich colors in it. I immediately started on selecting products and a new paint color. When I presented Michele the mood boards and floor plan she was ecstatic to see the vision come to life.

We decided to paint the whole room Alpaca by Sherwin Williams. This gave the whole room a much brighter and fresh feel to the space. Since this was a historic home we decided to keep the style traditional without making it look too formal. For the living area we loved the idea of rich velvets and tufting to keep with the theme of the home. The Maxx sofa and Augustine swivel chairs were perfect for this. Since we didn't want the room to feel too formal, I incorporated some natural elements such as the Ryan acacia wood coffee table that helped tone down the room.

Since the dining area was close by we incorporated the same color velvet for the head chairs. The Parisian dining table had a bluestone top with a cast iron base, this was the perfect fit to complete the look she was going for. We went with a neutral palette considering we had bold rich colors close by. Since this was a historic home we needed to add a nod to Bethlehem with star lamps that complimented the mantle perfectly.

It has been such a pleasure through the years to help the Schultz family bring their vision of home to life. We appreciate their dedication to continue to shop small.
