Our 3 Favorite Ways to Use Aw Shucks Seasoning
•Posted on October 06 2021

Musikfest 2021 may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean you have to wait another year to feast on one of ultimate 'fest foods. Head on down to Domaci Market, grab yourself a bottle of Aw Shucks Roasted Corn Spice, and enjoy this tasty treat whenever and wherever you want!
And, in case you were wondering, Aw Shucks is perfect for more than just corn-on-the-cob! Here are a few of our favorite uses for this blend of 13 spices and herbs with a southwest "kick":
Healthy Snacking
Grab one of our Poppers, pour in a few tablespoons of our Amish Country Popcorn, and microwave for 2 1/2 minutes. Sprinkle some Aw Shucks on your popcorn once out of the microwave, and you've got a healthy snack with just the right amount of heat.
Easy Crockpot Dinner
Crockpot Salsa Chicken is one of our favorite go-to's whenever life is a little hectic. Just a few ingredients, and you've got a delicious dinner protein with minimal effort. And you even get to enjoy two Musikfest favorites with this recipe if you choose!
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts
- Aw Shucks Seasoning 11 oz.
- Your favorite Salsa
Season your chicken breasts all over with Aw Shucks before placing in the crockpot. And then pour a jar of your favorite salsa on top of the chicken. We highly recommend locally-made Casa de Jorge (another one of our favorite Musikfest vendors). They have a wide variety of flavors and spice levels to choose from, and you can't go wrong with any of them!
Set your crockpot on low, and cook for 6-7 hours. You can serve the breasts whole with a side of your choosing, or you can shred the chicken to use for tacos or as a topping in a rice bowl. Easy and delicious!
Off-the-cob Elote
While the Aw Shucks Roasted Corn we know and love from Musikfest is a take on classic "Mexican Street Corn" aka elote, we love a nice (less messy) off-the-cob elote to enjoy as a summer side with a tasty steak right off of the grill.
Ingredients
- 4 ears of corn, shucked
- 2 tablespoons mayo
- 3 oz cotija cheese, freshly grated or crumbled (substitute feta cheese if needed)
- 1 tsp Aw Shucks Roasted Corn Seasoning
- 1 green onion stalk finely chopped
- Salt + Pepper to taste
Cook corn cobs on a hot grill until slightly charred, turning frequently for an even char. Once cool enough to handle safely, cut kernels from cobs.
Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Divide and serve!
